From one amputee to another
I've been an amputee for over half my life now. I can't say that I've got it all figured out, but I've come a long way since having my left leg amputated below the knee in 1993. I'm not an expert, but I get questions all the time from other amputees.
I'm happy to share what I've learned in this section of One Story One World. Everything from tips on choosing your prosthetist to what makes a socket fit well is in this area. Since most other amputees are curious about the types of prosthetics I wear, I've included an overview of each one of my legs in the Maja's Legs section.
Like most other sites, I've included a Frequently Asked Questions page here. If you have a question that you don't see answered here, just contact me. If it's a question that other amputees might ask, I'll add it in this FAQ area.
Finally, if you are looking for information or resources, check out the Support page here. You'll find links to groups that have helped and inspired me as an amputee and an athlete.
